I was on my cover shift last weekend. A renal patient needed an IV cannula resite thus I went. The patient is old and crumbly and looks like he has had a stroke in the past because he couldn't move his left arm well.
I put a new cannula in and then wrapped it up with a bandage to give it extra protection.
Later I bumped into the nurse that looked after the patient. She was so surprised when she went back to the patient to find that the cannula has been wrapped up. I guess she hasn't seen many doctors doing that themselves. Doctors normally leave that to nurses.
She asked me, "When are you coming to renal? We would love to have you!"
Well...not this year.
A kind act no matter how small, will leave a good impression I think.
When you make someone happy, the happiness will come back to you :)

Doesn't it feel good to be recognised and appreciated sometimes?
